The short version. You can play without an account, or save your purse with Google or your email. We keep the name you type, your coins and your wardrobe, linked to a random code saved on your phone. Payments go through Bachs or Paystack, and we never see your card or bank details. Voice notes are deleted when the meeting ends. We don't sell your information, and our ads are not personalised.
What we keep and why
- The name you type. Other players in your room see it. It doesn't need to be your real name.
- A random player code. Your phone makes it the first time you open the game and keeps it in the browser's storage. It identifies your coin purse and wardrobe, so the same phone keeps the same coins.
- Your account, if you make one: when you choose to save your purse, we keep your email address (and, if you use Google, your Google account number and first name) so you can sign in on another phone. We use it only for signing in and for answering you if you write to us. A 6-digit email code is kept only as a scrambled check for 10 minutes. Sign-in emails are sent through SendByte; Google sign-in is handled by Google.
- Your purse and wardrobe: your coins, the items you own, your saved look and meeting bell, how many matches earned coins today, and the payment references you have used (so a payment is never counted twice).
- What happens in a match: roles, moves, chores, chat and votes. They're kept in memory while the room is open, then thrown away.
- Voice notes recorded in a family meeting. Other players in that meeting can play them, and they're deleted when the meeting ends.
- Reports. If you report a player, we keep a note of who reported whom and why, to protect players and stop abuse.
- Daily totals: the number of visits, rooms, matches and players, coins earned and bought, payments, and ad views and taps per day. To count each visitor once a day, your phone remembers the date of your last visit; nothing that identifies you is sent. These are counts, not profiles of people.
- Technical logs. Our hosting records IP addresses and basic request details, which we use to limit spam and keep the game running. If the game hits an error on your phone, it sends us the error message and your browser type so we can fix it.
Microphone
The game uses your microphone only while you hold the mic button to record a voice note, or after you tap "Join live" in a meeting. Live talk is streamed to the other players in that meeting through LiveKit. We don't record it.
Payments
When you buy coins, you pay on the checkout page of Bachs (our main provider) or Paystack (the second option), under their own privacy terms. They tell us the payment went through, the amount, and our reference for it. If you don't give us an email address, we send them an address made from your player code, which doesn't identify you. We never see or store your card, bank or mobile money details.
Who else handles your information
- Cloudflare hosts the game and its servers.
- LiveKit carries live talk in meetings, when it's switched on.
- Bachs and Paystack process payments.
We don't sell your information or share it for advertising. Ads in the game are painted boards picked at random from our list, and are the same for everyone. Sponsors only get total view and tap counts.
Stored on your phone
The game saves a few things in your browser's storage: your name, your player code, the room you're in, the players you muted, and small settings such as whether you have seen the walking tip. There are no advertising cookies. Clearing the site's data in your browser removes them, and your coins too, because the player code is the only link to your purse.
Age
Suya Heist is made for players aged 13 and over. Anyone under 18 needs a parent or guardian's permission before buying coins.
Your choices
- Mute or report any player from the meeting screen.
- Ask us what we hold for your player code, or ask us to delete your purse and wardrobe, by writing to . Include your Purse ID, which you'll find in the wardrobe under Coins (tap it to copy). It identifies your purse but can't be used to spend your coins.
- Stop using the game at any time and clear the site's data.
How long we keep it
Match details, chat and voice notes go when the room or meeting closes. Your purse and wardrobe stay for as long as you play, so your coins are there when you come back, unless you ask us to delete them. Daily totals and logs are kept for running and improving the game.
Changes
If we change how we use your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
